150 Applications for testing will be available at the City Clerk’s Office, 8652 W. 95th Street beginning April 1st through April 12th, 2019 Monday through Friday 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. All completed applications WITHOUT EXCEPTION must be returned to the Clerk’s Office no later than 4:30 P.M. on Friday, April 19th, 2019.
Application fee is $30.00 when obtained, NON-REFUNDABLE.
– Applicants shall be U.S. Citizen at least 21 years and under 35 years of age or otherwise qualified as provided by Section 10-2.1-6 of the Illinois Municipal Code (65 I.L.C.S. 5/10-2.1-6)
– High School graduate or equivalent
– Valid Driver’s License
– Must present a valid POWER CARD issued from a certified testing agency (i.e., NIPSTA, Joliet Jr. College or Triton College) dated no earlier than April, 2018 along with a valid Driver’s License on the written test date.
– Able to pass written & oral tests, background check plus fingerprint check, psychological, polygraph tests and medical examination
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Starting salary $55,623 – $88,422 8th year & after uniform allowance, hospitalization, deferred compensation program, vacation and sick days.

The Forest Preserves of Cook County is a hosting a career fair this Saturday, March 2, at the Forest Preserves' general headquarters building, 536 N Harlem Ave., River Forest. The career fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees can learn more about applying to work for the forest preserves and meet with department representatives to learn about potential careers and current job opportunities with the Forest Preserves.

We’re hiring Transfer Trailer drivers.
Full Time Status
Load Percentage with possibility of hourly work
Primarily the job will be hauling waste and recyclable material from our three Homewood Disposal transfer stations in Homewood, Park Forest and Valparaiso, Inidiana to landfills. The job also includes hauling wrecking loads from demolition jobs at various sites and transporting them directly to the landfill. The driver will also use walking floor trailers to transport loads for destruction from warehouses to landfills. This is a 142 union job based out of our Gary, Indiana shop.
